Emily May is a third year medical student and Hook Scholar at the University of Virginia. Her background is in biology, fine arts, and emergency medicine. Currently, she has interest in pursuing residency training in emergency medicine and, later, a fellowship in palliative medicine. She volunteers as a group lead, advisor, and illustrator through the Medical Inclusion and Diversity Art Program with the International Center for Genetic Disease at Harvard Further, she was born and raised in Newport News, VA but has been a resident of Charlottesville, VA since her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia. She is an active volunteer as an EMT-B at a local rescue squad and helped in founding GeriPal, the Geriatrics and Palliative care interest group at the University of Virginia.
