Sana Baban, MBE (she/her/hers) is a Project Manager-Research Assistant at The Hastings Center. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Florida and a Masters in Bioethics from Harvard Medical School. As an undergraduate student, she worked as a Research Coordinator at Houston Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute focusing on smoking cessation in cancer patients and mindfulness-based interventions for caregivers of stem cell transplant patients. While pursuing her MBE, Sana completed her capstone project on the challenges that surrogate decision-makers face and the whether quality improvement methodologies could be used to address institutional ethical issues. At The Hastings Center, she works to support various research projects, ranging from community health to disability ethics. Sana is interested in a range of topics within bioethics, including ethical dilemmas at end-of-life, pediatric ethics, and global health.
