Preeti R. John MD, MPH, FACS, FCCM, HEC-C - Clinical Associate Professor, University of Maryland School of Medicine, VA Maryland Health Care System.

Dr. Preeti John is a surgeon who practices at the VA Maryland Healthcare System in Baltimore. She is a clinical associate professor in the department of Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and works as an intensivist within the VHA’s Tele-Critical Care program.
She is fellowship trained in Trauma and Critical Care and is triple board certified in General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
She is chair of the ethics consultation service at the VA Maryland Healthcare system and will serve as Chair of the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Ethics Committee from 2024 to 2026.
She is the editor of a book published in 2015, titled ‘Being a Woman Surgeon – 60 Women Share Their Stories’ - which has been applauded in various reviews, including in the journal ‘Annals of Surgery’ and the ‘Bulletin of the American College of Surgeons’.
