Associate Professor of Surgery and Humanities
Penn State College of Medicine
Dr. Cooper is an associate professor of Surgery at Penn State Milton Hershey Medical Center. She is an acute care and trauma surgeon in the Division of Trauma, Acute Care, and Critical Care Surgery and the Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Department of Surgery. She has a joint appointment in the Department of Humanities. She co-course directs the Communications Course and the First and Second-Year Health Systems Science courses for the preclinical medical students at Penn State College of Medicine. She also serves as the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee of the Association of Surgical Education. Her research interests include education research and clinical research with a focus on DEI topics.
