Jeffrey Pannekoek, PhD (he/him/his) is a Staff Ethicist in Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Bioethics. He completed his PhD in Philosophy at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2022, with a dissertation on dignity and decision-making for patients without surrogates. He subsequently participated in the Cleveland Clinic Fellowship in Advanced Bioethics and transitioned to the roll of Staff ethicist in October 2023. He provides support to various transplant services as an embedded ethicist within those teams, provides ethics consultation in the Cleveland Clinic Health System, and is interested in transplant ethics, gender care, issues around pain and death, and bioethics education.
