Christie Byars-Chavez is a Research Assistant for the Chickasaw Nation Division of Health, Department of Research and Public Health. With 25 years experience in Prevention Services, her work allows her to work with communities in the 13 counties of the Chickasaw Nation located in southern Oklahoma.
Accomplishments:
committe member who wrote a No Tobacco Use policy on Chickasaw Nation Hospital grounds and three clinics campuses.
Founding Committee member of the 7th Generation Conference on Tobacco Prevention and Health. Currently named 7th Generation and Tribal Public Health Conference. Today through collaborative partnerships between tribal nations, state, federal, and community organizations and advocacy of programs and policies which aim to improve the lives of native people.
She is a Wife, Mother and Grandmother to four handsome grandsons and will tell you they are not spoiled, just a little sweet.
